General Conference April 2012

Every April and October we have an opportunity to sit and listen to the leaders of our church speak to us. This year I had an idea to make it fun for the girls. Since each session is 2 hrs long and there are 4 they have to sit through over the course of Sat-Sunday afternoon. I printed up activity packets for them and I also made treat bowls so when a word was said they got to eat something from that bowl. It was a lot of fun and made for a very enjoyable weekend. With the words bowls my girls actually paid attention as well! They had a lot of fun. We heard some AMAZING talks and lastly we were able to see David Archuleta singing in the Missionary Choir. I love how you feel the spirit and how each talk pertains to you in some way. I love the help and guidance I get from the Prophet and the other leaders of the church!

The Neighbors Sheep had Lambs...

The neighbors sheep had the cutest little lambs a few weeks ago and the girls and I have been wanting to pet them and hold them. So, last week we finally climbed in and chased the lambs all around and end result was victory! We caught one, it was the cutest little thing and the girls each took turns holding him.

Ashlynn's School Animal Project...

For Kindergarten Ashlynn had a big animal report she had to do. She had to pick two animals of her choice, get facts about the animals, write them down, memorize them, dress up like the animal and then present them to the parents that pushed their buttons. This I thought was a lot for a little 5-6 year old to do. She did a pretty good job. Ashlynn's two animals where the Zebra and Grizzly Bear. When the parents came around and pushed her button she froze. Her stage fright was pretty bad unless I was there, then she would give her facts. Over all she did an amazing job. After the facts the other animals (class) got up and did a little sing-a-long for the parents. It was really cute and she sang her heart out! Best of all her Daddy was able to make it!

Jeri bought a 53" moose for her cabin several weeks ago and I thought one would look great in Owen's room. Also, thinking the moose would be a lot of fun for him to play on as he got older. She had gone to Costco to buy the moose and sent me a text saying there were not only moose but 3 bears there as well and asked which I wanted the most. I still loved the moose for Owen. However, I loved the bears as well. So for Ashlynn's birthday Jeri picked up the Dark Brown Bear for her, the Moose for Owen and Ember with her own money bought the Light Cream Bear. I was feeling a little bad about Kenzie not getting one, but she didn't seem to mind. It was craziness getting them home. Six people and three 53" stuffed animals in the Tahoe! We did it! The kids love the stuffed animals and I do too! So glad I had Jeri go and pick them up, can't beat the price of $30 a piece either! Thank you Jeri, my kids are having a blast with them.
