Pizza, Hair and Nails...Girls Night...

Kenzie and Ashlynn Pretty in Pink...Ember wanted Brown like her Mom.

Braids Galore! Lucky for me Ashlynn doesn't have long enough hair yet.

Pizza Time!

Since Donovan has been gone I figured that we would have fun doing girlie stuff. I asked what the girls wanted, they said, pizza, movie, hair and painting their toes and fingernails. So that is what we have been doing. It has been a lot of fun tonight doing a girls night, it really has been awhile. I know my girls have wanted this more. Just think, now they can wear their flip flops and have even cuter toes.

The Things I have to Do While Donovan Is Gone...

I thought that I would take the girls to the mall so they could ride the arcade games. Knowing that Ember would not be able to ride any of them. Sneaky, she hopped on one that was a roller coaster. She was too big, oh-well. Then we came home and I thought I would mow the lawn for Donovan. We will see what he thinks when he gets home tomorrow. The lawn has been in desperate need to be mowed for at least three weeks now. During this time Ashlynn, Kenzie and Ember were out running around and playing on our swing set trying to get them tired and come inside to relax. Did not work. Maybe we will go for a walk later. The movie doesn't seem to be keeping them busy. Not enough energy burned. Enjoy!

End Results...

I am done and the girls couldn't wait to mess it up. I'm glad they like it. I love you girls!

The toy box put together, it closes and opens! It was easy until the last three screws! The holes there weren't pre-drilled. I wanted to throw it out the window. Glad I took a couple of deep breaths. Just look at the end result!

Ashlynn has really wanted to help Mommy out a lot with the bunk bed and the toy box. "Sorry baby, you are a lot of help, however you also get in the way."

One more project! This time it is a toy box. Maybe a little easier...I hope!

After two days of working hard this is the end result of organizing and putting together "The Girls Room." Right now Ashlynn and Kenzie are in destroying all my hard work. It is funny and amazing to me how slow we are at clean and how quick kids are to make a mess. All I have to say is "Thank goodness they are finally playing in their room!" Maybe now I can keep the toys, clothes and everything else for that matter out of my living room. Looking at the beginning of this little project and the end, I am so glad that I tackled it. It is now time to finish the Master bedroom and then onto Embers'. I am almost finished with her, this week I hung shelves, pictures and made room for the trophies she has earned from her dance competitions. I will save you the pictures of that change, however I am posting the ones that I did of "The Girls Room." I think it turned out kind of nice.

*I'm not sure it was such a good idea getting a bunk bed, I can't keep the kids off of it and I think someone (Ashlynn) will be pushed off and hurt. This has already happened once, we will see.

From Box to Bunk Bed...

Ashlynn woke up around 9pm to try and help Mommy.

Almost Done!

What a mess!!!

Most of the time while Donovan is gone on one of his fishing tournaments, hunting trips or away on a camping adventure with McGarry I always think of some off the wall project I would like to get done. This time I thought I would take on the task of building a Bunk Bed for my two little ones. All I have to say is: "What was I thinking?" Well, I should have read the fine print a little better, "Did that say it weighed 113 lbs?" "Yes, that is what it said." This bed weighs as much as I do. How in the world was I going to get it from Ikea to my house (in my van) and worse part from the van into the house? Let's just say it was a pretty funny site. I was pushing and pulling this box to get it out of the van. Once on the ground I was able to drag it from the van to the steps of my house. Needless to say I left the box 3/4 of the way up and just opened it and carried every piece of wood, screws and the boards it needed into the house. That part a lone took 1/2 hour. From start (going to Ikea) to finish this 1 hour maybe 2 hour max. project took me about 9 hours to complete. Here are some pictures I took of my progress and finished product. Next time it is Donovan's turn!

Trip up Hobble Creek Canyon...

Ashlynn on a Big Girl swing!

On Saturday Donovan had some work to do down in Springville. We thought it would be fun to pack the kids up and head down with him and after he was done with work we could just drive up Hobble Creek Rd. Donovan and I were having fun looking at all the new homes being built up there, however the little girls were getting really bored. Donovan asked Kenzie and Ashlynn if they would like to go to a park and play. You don't have to ask that twice, they both echoed "Yeah!" as loud as they possibly could. I took some pictures of us hanging out at Rotary Park up Hobble Creek Canyon.

Shooting in the Hills...

You can't see it, however Ashlynn is tied to the camp chairs to keep her from running up in the area we where shooting! Reminds me of fishing at Lake Powell and having her tied to the boat.

Ember learning to shoot with Grandpa Newman. We were glad he could show her some pointers.

What a cute picture! Need I say more?

We are finally having good weather. We decided to take an opportunity to teach Ember how to shoot a 22 while her Grandpa Newman was in town. She was having a very good time, she is a great shot! She is very interested in learning to shoot and can't wait until she can shoot her little 22 pink cricket that she received last week before heading up to Idaho. Here are pictures of the little girls, Kenzie sitting, Ember shooting, Donovan and I, and Ashlynn playing around with Grandpa. Enjoy!

Ogden for Ice Cream...

About two years ago I found out that my Grandma and Grandpa Newman while they were dating back in 1930 they would go to this Creamery in Ogden. It is still in business and has never been remodeled (amazingly). We have now made a family tradition of going up to Ogden about twice a year to have ice cream with my Dad, Donovan and the girls. The girls have really enjoyed this and the stories that we are able to hand down. My Dad was down visiting April 11-18 so we took the trip and here is a picture that I took (unfortunately Ember had just gone up to Idaho for Spring break).

Oh my Heck...

Oh, my, I thought this would be an easy thing to do. I was sooo wrong! I have had this blog spot now since October, however I haven't done anything with it until now. Since I have family and a lot of friends doing this I thought I would try and keep up. This might be a little more challenging then it should have been. I posted a little earlier this morning, trying to upload pictures have not been easy. One out of the two uploaded. The other post I tried none of the photos would upload. I will try that post a little later. If this is how I blog, it will be a very interesting time for you as the reader and for me as the blogger. We will see! Wish me luck! Just so you know I am having fun, even if I am babbling on.

A Day in the Sun...

Here are a couple of pictures of all the girls enjoying one of the few sunny days we have had. It has been such an interesting Winter/Spring. We have had so much moisture it was nice to have one day of Sun. We needed this, the girls needed this. We have all been cooped up indoors for far too long.
