Memorial Day Weekend...Day 1...

Provo Canyon

Double Trouble!

Pretending to take a nap!

Daddy, Daisy and Ashlynn

Antelope!

First day we headed straight to the lake after unloading the van. It was a lot of fun, however it was very cold...too cold for the little ones. So Grandma, Mommy, Ember, Kenzie and Ashlynn headed back to the warmth of the motel while the men decided to stick it out and brave the cold. While we were waiting for the boys we did a little girl bonding. Grandma braided Ember and Kenzie's hair. Hung out, tried to get the girls to nap. No luck, Grandma took one though. Then Daddy came home...see how happy Ashlynn was (maybe that was because of Daisy). We then took one more trip to the lake to fish. We saw a lot of Antelope, here is just one of many pictures I took. I hope you like our trip, we sure did!

Memorial Day Weekend...Day 2...

This was a big day for the Allphin Family. First to keep the kids busy while the dads were out fishing, we took them to a nearby park. The kids had a lot of fun playing around. We went back to the motel, waited for Daddy and then headed up the canyon to Sheep Creek Loop. We thought it would be fun to stop at almost all the Lakes on the Scenic Backway and do a little fishing. We had a lot of fun but couldn't get all the way out to see Spirit Lake (maybe next trip). First lake we stopped at was Sheep Creek Lake, second lake was Long Park Reservoir and last was Browne Lake. We were gone for quite some time and it was time to head back to the motel to eat. We ate and then headed to the Flaming Gorge Lake to do a little fishing by the docks.

Memorial Day Weekend...Day 3...

A lizard I caught for the kids to see.

Daddy fixing Kenzie's helmet.

Our first moose! Isn't it pretty? What a view!

The girls enjoying the 4-wheelers.

Kenzie, Daddy and Ashlynn, ready to ride!

Mommy and Ember!

What a beautiful drive!

Short-horned Lizard.

Day 3-We packed up the girls and headed to Sheep Creek Loop to do a little 4-wheeling. The day before we had gone out towards Spirit Lake so we decided to go the opposite direction and head to Deep Creek and Elk Park. On the way back we stopped by to see Don and Jeri's new cabin property and found a couple of Short-horned lizards. I caught one and Don Sr. caught this big one pictured and we showed them to the kids.

Memorial Day Weekend...Day 4...

Ashlynn eating a popsicle before we left the motel.

The 2nd of 5 moose we saw.

Look at the blue sky...

Still looking?

Say Snow!

Where did all that blue go?

Back in the last picture with Ashlynn!

Despite the snow Ember was able to catch a Rainbow Trout!

Moose #3, can you find her?

And Moose 4 and 5! I love Moose, these are my favorite animals!

To let you know what day 4 was like for the Allphin Family here is a recap. We packed up our motel, the girls had WAY too much ice cream for breakfast and we loaded the family into our over stuffed van. The idea was to head to Hoop Lake with Mark, Talara and their family. We arrived at Hoop Lake, Mark and Talara unloaded the 4-wheelers on one side of the lake, we headed to the other to fish. As we were making our way around the lake we saw some storm clouds rolling in. Donovan had heard and made mention many times throughout the trip that there was a snow advisory to anyone above 8,000 feet. Well we were 9,275 feet! The weatherman was right for once. We unloaded the girls, gave them a few snacks and Donovan...you guessed it, baited the hooks and headed off towards the lake. The girls had a lot of fun, that was until Ashlynn found the only muddy spot and fell in. Mud from chest to toes! Yuck! Then all flurry broke loose. The storm had arrived. Mark, Talara and kids arrived to say "HI" and then a quick "Goodbye" because of the weather and they were on 4-wheelers still. After they left the little girls headed back to the van (not before I snapped some pictures), Donovan and Ember stayed out to fish a little longer. Lucky for Ember they did. She caught a fish! Needless to say we did not stay too much longer after that, the snow was really coming down by that time. We had a really fun time.

A Little Summertime Action...

5 Times the Trouble...

Many hours on the tramp! Ember and Canyon

Cousin Sheridan

Today, I have to say I had a lot of fun, it was a lot of work however a lot of fun. My Brother Chris and Lacy were in need of a babysitter and had asked me if I could watch their two kids, Canyon and Sheridan. I told them that would be no problem and gladly said "Yes." I knew there were going to be good times, better times, and those times where it wasn't so good. Everything was going well, that is until we had gone outside (in the heat) and played for about 2 hours. 2 Hours to a little kid is like 8 hours and just really tires them out. Well we all came in, the six of us, myself, Ember, Kenzie, Canyon, Ashlynn and little Sheridan. I put Sheridan down for a nap (this kid is great), she just laid her head down and slept for about 2 1/2 hours! While she was down I had the other 4 go downstairs to watch TV. Well this is where the trouble started. You have 4 tired kids, one blanket and a couch that only sits 3. What happens? Ciaos! There was yelling, fighting, hitting, you name it, it happened! Needless to say all kids were split up and 3 went down for a nap. Once all the kids were up again, they played very well with one another. Those naps really work! A lot of time kids start fighting due to being tired. We all had a lot of fun. Chris came home just in time to bail me out. The kids were starving and just about to start fighting again. They had nachos and then I took my girls home! What a day. Thank you for the fun. Here are some pictures I took.

A Great Mother's Day...

I just wanted to post on my blog that I had a wonderful Mother's Day! It was the perfect day. To start as I'm getting ready for church and rolls in order for my calling, my wonderful family was putting together a goody basket full of great gifts! When I opened the door the green basket (left over from Easter) was sitting on the step. Daddy had cued the girls and they started singing "I love to go walking through meadows of clover, and I gather armful of blossoms of blue. I gather blossoms the whole meadow over, Dear Mother all blossoms remind me of you." It was so sweet! I had tears. This is what Mother's Day is all about! What an awesome gift. I truly love being a Mom. Donovan was so thoughtful, he bought me a really nice spice rack, Ember picked out 'The Host' by Stephanie Meyer, Kenzie (loving the sweets like she does) bought me chocolate caramel candies. Yummy! Last but not least, My Sweet Ashlynn picked out a back massager for me (how did she know I needed that).

I was a little ditsy today, every year for Mother's Day and Father's Day we as a family go for a hike somewhere. Well this year was no different. However me, not thinking went to church, Donovan gets a call to show a house. I think "Okay, we are going to Mona, there is nothing for the family really to do." You guessed it, I did NOT bring my camera on the trip! AUGH!!! We went and hiked around the ponds down there, the girls were cute and there were so many birds! There were yellow necked black birds, red-winged black birds, cranes (all types) ducks, there were probably 15 different species. It was awe inspiring and me without the camera. Oh-well...there are many more trip like that.

I just have to let everyone know I have the greatest family. I love you! Thank you for the best Mother's Day!

I Can't Believe Kenzie Belle is 4 Years Old...

Cousin Madi gave Kenzie a really cool set of Disney Princess walkie-talkies! She loves them, Thank you Madi and Aunt Talara!

The Birthday Girl! Pretty in Pink!

Our Little Princess!

One of Kenzie's presents, she would not have gotten this had it not been priced at $20.00. What a steal! I can't wait to see the Little Girls playing with it outside.

Cousin Canyon, Ashlynn and Kenzie Blowing out the candles. She really did love her Princess cake!
